My 13-year-old son is amazed that when I grew up, I only had seven channels on our TV. He has access to hundreds of channels, as well as DVDs, You Tube, websites, and streaming. The world is so different than when I grew up in the 1970s in my small town in central New Jersey, with my mom (a waitress and later a food service manager), and my dad (a clerk with the United States Postal Service).
